Campfire Stories - Boy's Camp

In June, we hosted a boy's camp and were able to spend a few hours on the water with Cornerstone Charter and Captain Jay. One boy who attended that camp was very nervous around the water.

We did some tubing and swimming and he was apprehensive to do both. At one point, he did try tubing and swimming in the shallow water. He started to get more comfortable in both sharing his fears and overcoming them.

Fast forward to October and this same boy returned for our tent campout. His joy and comfort level in being back at camp was evident from the beginning. The first night he was quick to play games, try out the ninja course, and excited to sleep in a tent. He was determined on the ninja course...and maybe a little competitive.

On the Saturday of the tent campout, we went out on the water again with Cornerstone Charter and Captain Jay. To see this boy's attitude and confidence on the water this trip was night and day difference from that June trip.

He was excited to swim, eagerly jumping in the water, and even got a chance drive the boat! Upon returning to camp, he even jumped in the pool for frigid swim. His confidence in the water changed drastically from that June day.

Your support and contributions to TRR make these stories possible. Through your generosity and support, we are able to provide kids in foster care opportunities and experiences that they might not otherwise have.

We are able to help them open up and overcome fears. We are able to encourage them and be additional adults in their life that loves and cares for them. We are able to help them heal.

We are excited to keep experiencing and sharing these stories of growth and healing. Our vision is to be able to do this all year long. To do so, we need to build the clubhouse and cabins so we can support more camps and year-round camps. Your financial contributions will help this vision become a reality.

Thank you for your continued support!
